Why support Age Connects Morgannwg

Age Connects Morgannwg
August 28, 2019

As a charity, we provide support to people over the age of 50 so that they can get the help they want, when they want it.

Without the people who support the charity, however, we would not be able to continue to provide this support. We are always looking for support - whether this be as a fundraiser, a volunteer, a trustee, a sponsor, or as a donator.

You can get involved and help us in many different ways so that we, as a charity, can continue to provide support to older people in the community. But don't take our word for it - find out more from the people who support Age Connects Morgannwg about how they help and why they chose to get involved:

Volunteering
"I wanted to do something positive and rewarding with my day so I became a volunteer with Age Connects after learning more about the services they provide. I think that the charity really plays a huge part in older people's lives as it provides a listening ear at the end of a phone, or from a support worker who can make them feel less lonely and cut off from human contact. People can become more vulnerable as they get older and so I wanted to get involved with work that helped people get the support they need, however they need it."

Become a Trustee
"There are three reasons I volunteer as a Trustee for Age Connects Morgannwg: the first is that I am passionate about the cause. For me, there are several areas that I am passionate about and they are Older People, Carers, Mental Health and Animals. The second being that I am able to support a charity using my experience and skills to give something back. It is very rewarding when you are passionate about the cause and you can contribute and truly make a difference. Thirdly, as a trustee, you are responsible for the governance of the charity, (along with many other things). There are usually a variety of challenges presented to you and your fellow trustees. It is so rewarding when, as a board, you can overcome those challenges and see the charity develop and grow, adapt and change, for the benefit of the end user. There are many other reasons why people become a trustee. Please do consider joining a charity that you are passionate about."
