I live in Porth with my partner and our two small children. In my day job, I’m the Age Alliance Wales and Engagement Team Manager at Age Cymru, and prior to that, I had worked with Assembly Members and in a range of roles with Citizens’ Advice. I spent a number of years as a mature student, studying Criminology and Criminal Justice, and worked for seven years as a local authority councillor with RCTCBC. I’m also Vice Chair of Hafod Primary School, Trehafod.
My work with Age Cymru, whilst enjoyable, essentially involves nationwide issues and, since leaving my local authority position, I felt I could do more for my locality. I was therefore delighted to have the opportunity to join the board of Age Connects Morgannwg.
Outside work, I used to enjoy working on cars (I’ve previously built a kit car and partly restored a Jensen), cycling, travelling and watching motor racing. However, since gaining a family, I’m more limited to activities like gardening, DIY and occasionally some of the hobbies I previously enjoyed.
