I have over 30 years’ experience in a number of varied roles within the public and third sector. I have set up new services within local authorities, delivered over 14 construction projects acting as a client, been part of a team delivering new legislation within Scottish Government, and was Community Development Manager for a private development company. I have worked in Wales, Scotland, Lithuania, China and Milton Keynes, and enjoy learning about different cultures and new ways of working.
I value the role that volunteering plays in society and also the personal benefits it has brought me. I have volunteered since the age of 13 in playschemes, as a counsellor for Childline, a mentor for young care leavers, and as the secretary of a local coastal rowing club. I also co-founded a charity in Swansea called SPARK Blaenymaes and have been a trustee with a number of organisations, including Play Scotland. I am currently a trustee with Swansea-based Circus Eruption.
Living in two beautiful parts of the world, South Wales and Scotland, I love to walk around the coast and in the mountains.
