About: Nicola Jones

Nicola Jones, Trustee

I work for Pobl Group which is a not-for-profit organisation operating throughout Wales. Pobl is the largest Housing Association in Wales and also provides a wide range of care and support services to help people live independently. In my role as Executive Assistant, I provide professional and confidential support to the Group Chief Executive and the Group Chair, and I support the Group Board in all matters of governance. I am also a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to business strategy and change management. I Chair the Pobl Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Steering group with a passion for driving the EDI agenda forward.

At Pobl, we regard the people we support as experts in their own needs and aspirations and experts in regard to the disability or difficulties they face. This represents my own personal values, which I feel align with Age Connects Morgannwg’s values of ‘we listen, we learn and we care’. As the Equality and Diversity lead for Pobl, I recognise the importance of promoting equity for all, eliminating discrimination and operating a culture that is truly open and inclusive, and where every individual can be themselves. EDI is a particular area of interest of mine and I bring diversity of thought to the ACM Board discussions.

In my spare time I enjoy cruising around the world with my husband and we are slowly working our way through our bucket list of countries to visit. I also have a new baby granddaughter to spoil rotten and a puppy to keep me active!
